Boys Hoops:
Glendora snapped a four-game losing streak, including three Palomares League setbacks on Wednesday night.
The Tartans cruised to a 62-47 victory over visiting Claremont.
GHS used a 35-23 run in the second half to pull away.
With two games to play (at Bonita & vs Walnut) on Friday and Monday, respectively, Glendora finds itself in fourth place and one-game back of both BHS and WHS.
Max Hilgenfeldt had a big night with 24 points, five rebounds and an assist.
Hilgenfeldt’s six 3-pointers was two more than the Claremont program combined.
Jeremiah Garzon finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and a pair of assists.
Zach Newkirk had a big night with nine points and six boards.
Tanner Grable chipped in with eight points, 11 rebounds and three assists.
Nolan Zitar led the CHS offense with 15 points.
Jordan Trice produced 10 points, and Elijah Jenkins scored nine points in a losing effort.
Trice hit a pair of 3’s and scored eight of his 10 in the second quarter.
