Boys Hoops:
Charter Oak remains one-game back of first-place Wilson.
The Chargers accomplished that by cruising to a 69-53 Valle Vista League victory at Covina.
COHS led 39-13 and the outcome was never in doubt.
To their credit, the Colts outscored the Chargers, 40-30, in the second half.
Jayden Harris led Charter Oak with 24 points.
Xavier Green provided 23 points in the win.
Wale Opanubi led Covina with 19 points for CHS.
That included four 3-pointers.
Kenji Shah chipped in with eight points, and Hector Quezada finished with six points.
Up next: Charter Oak and Covina will both be in action on Friday night.
COHS travels to West Covina, and CHS heads to Wilson.
