Wrestling:
Bonita put itself in a position to compete for a Palomares League title next week.
The Bearcats improved to 3-0 in league matches after Thursday’s 71-6 thumping of Claremont.
BHS won 13 of the 14 matches.
That included 10 via pin, two major decisions and one decision.
Claremont’s Jayden Pillos secured a pin at 120 pounds to earn the Wolfpack six team points.
Bonita’s Elijah Lopez (106), Ethan Edroza (113), Elias Echeveste (126), Tyler Franco (132), Josiah Vivas (138), Jacob Fernandez (144), Owen Sarver (150), Thomas Jimenez (157), Harrison Santos (175) and Matt Meza (190) stuck their CHS counterpart.
Lopez and Fernandez got their pins in one minute or less.
The Lady Bearcats cruised to a 54-6 victory over Claremont.
Up next: BHS will host Walnut next Thursday night with the winner securing an outright Palomares League championship.
