Boys Hoops:
La Salle put itself right in the thick of things in the Santa Fe League title chase.
The Lancers handed Cathedral its first loss on Wednesday to create a three-way tie atop the league standings.
La Salle jumped on the Phantoms early, and they secured a 65-57 home victory to improve to 4-1.
The Lancers took a 27-15 lead after the first eight minutes, and they would not relinquish their advantage.
Enzo Trejo had a monster game with 31 points and five rebounds.
Trejo hit six 3-pointers, and he scored 12 points during the crucial first quarter run.
Cody Divens chipped in with seven points, four rebounds and three assists.
Kristupas Milelis added six points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
KJ White chipped in with five points, four assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Cane Ortiz finished with five points and four boards.
Diego Bernal produced four points, a pair of steals and two blocked shots.
Zach Kuo had four points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Miles Reid chipped in with two points, three boards and a pair of assists.
Alex Darlas added one point and four rebounds in the win.
Darren Luong hit four 3-pointers, and he finished with 23 points to lead Cathedral.
Up next: The Lancers will travel to Paraclete on Friday at 7 to conclude the first round of Santa Fe League play.
