Boys Hoops:
Bonita started and finished strong in Friday’s 68-51 victory over their visitors from Walnut.
The Bearcats had a 31-16 advantage in the first and fourth quarters combined.
The win also catapults BHS into a four-way tie atop the Palomares League standings with Glendora, Ayala and the Mustangs.
Beau Rudometkin hit a pair of 3-pointers, and his 26 points was double that of Walnut’s leading scorer (Kiko Guevara and Jeremiah Vasquez).
James Kim finished with 20 points and a pair of 3-pointers.
Jakson Clement and Josef Al-Shatti both chipped in with six points apiece.
As mentioned, Guevara and Vasquez combine for 26 points in the loss.
