Boys Hoops:
Monday’s Santa Fe League showdown at La Salle was about as even as it gets.
The Lancers matched Cantwell Sacred Heart in scoring in the second, third and fourth quarters.
However, the Cardinals escaped with a 56-54 victory.
Miguel Ochoa III led the way with a game-high 19 points to go with 13 rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in the win.
Jacob Campos provided 12 points for the Cardinals, while Jonathan Avila and Jose Padilla combined to score 15 points.
Cody Divens led La Salle with 16 points.
Enzo Trejo, Zach Kuo and Kris Miselis combined for 29 points in the narrow loss.
Up next: The Lancers will host Salesian (8-8) on Wednesday evening at 7.
