Boys Hoops:
Etiwanda had a strong 3-1 record in the Damien Classic’s Gold Division.
After a 2-point loss in OT to Liberty, which was their first loss of the season, the Eagles bounced back with victories over Loyola (67-64 in OT) and San Gabriel Academy (51-47).
Trailing 21-20 at the half, EHS went on an 18-10 run in the third period.
Achilles Orji and Devin Mitchell scored a team-high 12 points.
Orji scored nine points during the fourth-quarter surge, and Mitchell hit a pair of 3-pointers.
Jacob Coleman had two 3-pointers of his own, and he finished with 10 points.
Isaiah Benn added eight points in the win.
Mahamadou Diop 15 scored a game-high 15 points for the Eagles.
Zach Arnold, Mamadou Traore and Sean Palmer chipped in with nine points apiece in the loss.
Up next: EHS will open up Baseline League play on Tuesday, as they welcome Los Osos to their gym.
The tip is set for 6:30.
