Boys Hoops:
Bonita is 2-0 so far at the Damien Classic.
On Friday, the Bearcats defeated Ponderosa, 57-36, in a Copper Decision showdown.
Fast forward one night, and Bonita edged The Meadows School (Las Vegas), 64-58.
BHS had a 16-11 advantage in the second quarter.
The first and fourth periods were even, and the Bearcats had a one-point edge in the third quarter.
Bonita went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line in the final eight minutes.
Brayden Henderson scored a game-high 20 points.
James Kim chipped in with 14 points, including a pair of 3’s and a 4-of-4 effort from the charity stripe.
Jakson Clement (13) and Beau Rudometkin (10) combined for 23 points in the win.
Uzo Nwapa led the Mustangs with 19 points.
Terrance Holmes scored 13 points in the loss.
Up next: The Bearcats will battle Cajon on Monday evening at 7.
