Girls Hoops:
Canyon of Anaheim handed Glendora its first loss of the 2025-26 season.
And the Comanches did so in the first round of GHS’ own tournament.
Canyon took a nine-point lead into the half, and they were able to hold off the Tartans, 42-39, on Friday evening.
GHS shot just 28-percent (14-of-50) from the field, including an 8-of-26 effort from beyond the 3-point arc.
Reagan Herrmann scored a game-high 12 points, but ‘Ronnie’ made just four of her 16 shots.
Herrmann did gab 14 rebounds and dished out seven assists.
Mia Reyes chipped in with 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting, and she totaled six rebounds.
Kamryn Kuo added six points and a pair of rebounds.
And Milana Luera provided five points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Glendora went 3-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Anna B’far led Canyon with 11 points and Zulymar Velazquez finished with nine points in the win.
Up next: The Tartans will battle Roosevelt on Saturday morning at 11.
