Girls Hoops:
Glendora extended its season-beginning win streak to 15 games on Friday evening.
And more importantly, it was a league win.
The Tartans cruised to a 53-33 victory over their visitors from Ayala in the Palomares League opener for both programs.
Reagan Herrmann led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting.
“Ronnie,” as she’s called, collected seven rebounds, six assists and seven steals.
Remy Caine added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and seven rebounds.
All nine of Kamryn Kuo’s nine points came from beyond the 3-point arc.
Milana Luera chipped in with six points, two rebounds and four steals.
Addison Gonzalez led AHS with 13 points, including three 3’s.
GHS had a 9-4 advantage from behind the 3-point line.
Up next: The Tartans open the Glendora Tournament on the day after Christmas with a 3:30 showdown with Canyon of Anaheim.
Quotable:
Glendora coach, Adam Nunemaker: “Starting 15-0 is great, but the only thing that really matters is that we are 1-0 in league. Our team is together, roots for one another and gets excited to see each other do well. We host a very tough tournament after Christmas where we will definitely get tested and I am excited to see how we do as it will prepare us for the very tough Palomares League.”
