Girls Hoops:
Bonita started and finished strong in Monday’s rivalry game at San Dimas.
The Bearcats outscored the Saints 15-11 in the first period and 19-11 in the fourth.
BHS would go on to secure a 48-39 victory to improve to 6-3.
Tressa Beatty led all scorers with 25 points.
Beatty totaled 15 of her 25 in the first and fourth.
She connected on three 3-pointers and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Brooke Van Duyne scored 12 points, and all 12 came from the charity stripe.
Van Duyne was 12-of-16 at the line.
Malei’a Reaves added seven points in the win.
Nevaeh Verdines had a big night for the Saints.
Verdines scored a team-high 18 points.
She converted on three 3’s, and she was 5-of-7 from the free-throw line.
Mariah Martinez, Robene Mercado and Eva Niedzwiedz scored six points apiece for SDHS.
Up next: The Bearcats will host Diamond Bar in the Palomares League opener for both programs.
The Saints welcome Grand Terrace on Wednesday night.
