Girls Hoops:
Rio Hondo Prep improved to 4-0 on Wednesday.
The Kares secured a 57-24 victory at Covina in the Covina Basketball Tournament.
RHP outscored the Colts in all four quarters.
But it was a 35-15 run between the second and third periods that allowed the Kares to pull away.
Bryce Johnson had a huge game with 18 points.
Tara Riley chipped in with 14 points and six steals.
Zoey Chen added six points, and Leah Rodriguez contributed five points in the win.
Khloe Ulrich (8), Marianna Morales (6) and Yuia Carter (6) combined to score 20 of Covina’s 24 points.
Up next: The Kares and Colts will both be in action on Thursday as the tournament continues.
