Girls & Boys Athletes of the Week:

A pair of Glendora football players had incredible performances this past week.

Reagan Herrmann and her buddies led GHS to a pair of CIF-SS Division 3 playoff victories.

And Nazir McGlothen erupted in the Tartans’ 35-21 Sierra League victory at Claremont.

Reagan Herrmann and the flag football program claimed a 13-12 victory at Torrance in Tuesday’s first round of the D-3 playoffs.

It was the first postseason win in program history.

In that game, ‘Ronnie’ as she’s called had a monster effort with nine receptions for 143 yards, and that included a pair of TD catches from quarterback, Rylee Franks.

Herrmann also picked a pass while on defense.

Ninety-six hours later, and GHS secured yet another 13-12 victory.

This time it was over a talented and deep Long Beach Millikan squad.

Herrmann was third with five flag pulls for the Tartans’ defense.

And she had two receptions for 16 yards.

Up next: Glendora travels to Long Beach Poly to face a Jackrabbits squad that has scored 47 combined points in wins over Villa Park and Norco.

Nazir McGlothen recently returned from injury, and he showed off his skills on Friday night.

McGlothen’s 180 rushing yards on 21 carries helped lead Glendora to a 35-21 Sierra League victory at Claremont.

With one game to play, GHS is in a four-way tie with Colony, Los Osos and Claremont for third place in the Sierra League standings.

All four programs enter the final week with 1-3 league records.

McGlothen had TD runs of 37, 53 and 1 yard.

Trailing 21-14 at CHS, the Tartans’ junior scored the final three TDs of the game.

And that included a 2-yard TD pass from Sebastian Lawrence.

Up next: The Tartans host Los Osos on Thursday night at 7 in the regular season finale for both programs.

It’s believed that with a win, GHS could earn an at-large playoff spot.

The Grizzlies (1-3 in league) dropped a 28-7 decision to visiting Bonita in their week-nine contest.
