Football:

Over the past two weeks, Long Beach dropped 52 points on both Citrus (52-38) and Santa Ana (52-21) in conference victories.

The Vikings displayed quite the swagger both physically and verbally in Glendora back on October 11th.

Fast forward to Thursday night, and Mt. SAC thoroughly humbled LBCC.

The fifth-ranked program in the state cruised to a 47-7 victory over their visitors.

Trailing 47-0, Long Beach finally got on the board when Imari Conway scored on a 5-yard TD run with 5:40 to play.

With two weeks to play, the Mounties are one-half game back of first-place Ventura.

Speaking of dominance, check out these stats.

Mt. SAC had advantages in first downs (29-11), third-down efficiency (10-of-19 to 3-of-9), total offense (481-177), rushing (337-20) defensive interceptions (3-0) and the time of possession battle (39-21).

If there was one area that Mt. SAC legend Bob Jastrab will likely address with his young men, it would have to be the discipline department.

The Mounties were flagged 11 times for 112 yards, as compared to 12-for-88 for the Vikings.

Aiden Ramos out-gained Long Beach, 149-20, by himself.

Ramos carried the ball 18 times, and he had TD runs of 1 and 7 yards.

Devyn Turner gained 96 yards on 12 carries.

And Damien Smith totaled 44 yards on four carries.

Eleven separate MSAC backs had at least one carry on Thursday night.

Daunte Bell completed 11-of-26 for 113 yards.

Bell hooked up with Damari Williams on a 16-yard TD pass with 3:06 to play in the first quarter to extend the lead to 16-0.

Bell also had a 1-yard TD run.

Damien Smith caught three passes for 48 yards.

Pierce Brown had three receptions for 18 yards and Bronseman Davis caught two passes for 29 yards.

The Mounties defense was outstanding.

They held the Vikings to 34 points under their scoring average, and to just 177 yards of total offense.

Allen Fernett and Wyatt McCauley combined to go 13-of-26 for 157 yards.

That included zero TD passes and three picks.

Imari Conway led LBCC with 22 yards on nine carries and the late TD run.

Owen Tomich (3-for-39), Hezeikiah Robinson (2-for-39) and Conway (2-for-3) combined for seven receptions for 108 yards.

Twenty-six Mounties tallied at least one tackle.

Bejohn Turner returned a blocked punt 15 yards for a TD in the second quarter.

Dakota Mendoza led Mt. SAC with four tackles and one pick.

Blake Hiligh and Kanye Childress had two tackles and one interception apiece.

Jordan Arias, Maynor Morales, Solomon Tripline and Jayden Murrietta totaled three tackles apiece in the win.

Kenneth Junger Porta and Joseph Gutierrez booted 22-and-20-yard field goals, respectively.

Up next: The Mounties will host Allan Hancock next Saturday before traveling to No. 3 Ventura in the regular season finale for both programs.
