Water Polo:
Glendora’s 15-7 victory over Ayala in the Palomares League Tournament’s third-place match secured the Tartans an automatic CIF-SS berth.
Leading 6-3 at the half, GHS put the match away with a 7-3 run in the third period.
Drew Garrison scored four goals in what some called “the best game he’s ever had.”
Logan Gibson scored four goals of his own, including three in the decisive third quarter.
Reed Thompson two of his three goals in that same third period.
Zach Newkirk contributed a pair of goals, while Harrison Peckham and Collin Harper provide one goal apiece.
Peter Collins (12), Giancarlo Figueroa (7) and Jake Mountain (1) combined for 20 saves in goal for the Tartans.
Up next: The Tartans will get their playoff opponent this Friday at 2.
