Volleyball:
Rancho Cucamonga needed a victory at Chino Hills to secure the Baseline League’s No. 3 spot in the CIF-SS playoffs.
The Cougars and Huskies entered the regular season finale for both programs with identical 4-5 records.
RCHS battled their butts off and headed home with a five-set victory and the league’s No. 3 seed.
Rancho Cucamonga won by scores of 25-18, 24-26, 25-18, 15-25 and 15-11.
Kailynn Tuliaupupu and Emily Smith had 10 kills apiece.
Ellea Abellanosa chipped in with four aces.
Olivia Bliss added 25 digs and a pair of assists.
Audrey Chu contributed 36 assists and two kills.
Lyric Kelly had four blocks.
Up next: The Cougars will get their playoff opponent this Saturday morning at 9.
