Football:
South Hills pulled off a twofer on Friday.
The Huskies snapped a two-game losing streak and they gave their leader, Coach Jacob Calderon a happy 38th birthday present.
SHHS outscored their hosts from Santa Fe 14-3 in the fourth quarter and 20-6 in the second half to secure a 34-20 victory.
“We talked about being tough this week and finding our identity on offense and decided it was very important to get back to our roots and run the football,” Calderon said.
And run it they did.
All 325 South Hills yards came on the ground.
Tyler Arguinzoni was one of three Huskies running baks with 80 or more yards.
Arguinzoni carried the ball 12 times for 83 yards and two scores.
Isaiah Castellano gained 94 yards on eight carries.
Ivan Lopez led the SHHS defense with eight tackles.
