Water Polo:
Glendora opened and closed Tuesday’s showdown with Los Osos in strong form.
The Tartans scored four goals in the first period, and they got five more in the fourth in a 14-9 victory over the Grizzlies.
GHS received goals from five separate athletes.
Zach Newkirk and Reed Thompson scored four goals apiece to pace the Tartans offense.
Logan Gibson chipped in with three goals.
Tommy Travisano scored twice, and Collin Harper added a fourth-quarter goal on Tuesday.
Peter Collins and Giancarlo Figueroa did a solid job in goal for GHS.
Collins had three saves on seven shots and one steal.
Giancarlo Figueroa totaled four saves on nine shots.
Figueroa also had one assist and a steal.
Glendora got strong defensive performances from Ricky Busse and Drew Garrison.
LOHS did not post any stats online, and they fell to 12-6.
Up next: The Tartans host Rowland on Thursday at 4.
