Football:
It’s week one of the 2025 football season and La Salle has already matched the Lancers win total of 2024.
After being on the wrong end of a 52-6 beatdown last week (to La Canada), La Salle ran over their visitors from San Marino.
The Lancers outrushed the Titans, 425-105, in Thursday’s 28-14 victory.
Alex Darlas and Denzel Carter combined for 309 yards and three scores.
Darlas carried the ball 20 times for 150 yards and two TDs.
Carter gained 159 yards on 21 carries, including one score.
Michael Johnson totaled 82 rushing yards on six carries.
Bobby Clougherty had six carries for 22 yards in the win.
Clougherty also tossed a 30-yard TD pass to Drew Ward.
San Marino junior Parker Wilson completed just 10-of-32 for 140 yards.
But Wilson did toss a pair of TD passes and no picks.
Wilson also led the Titans in rushing with 77 yards on 12 carries.
Chase Mena had four catches for 97 yards.
And Mena reeled in both TD catches for the Titans.
Up next: The Lancers will host St. Margaret’s next Friday at 7.
The Tartans (1-0) claimed a 38-6 victory over Arlington in week zero, and they have a week-one bye.
