Football:

To say that Chino Hills dominated their visitors from Glendora in the 2025 season opener would be an understatement.

The Huskies scored seven minutes in, and they cruised to a 40-0 victory.

CHHS found five different ways to score on Thursday night.

It included two rushing and passing TDs, a field goal, a pick-six and a safety on a bad snap on a punt attempt with six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Late in the second quarter, Glendora picked a pass, and they had a first-and-goal scenario from the 4-yard line.

GHS could not cash it in for points, including third and fourth down opportunities from the 1-yard line with 16 seconds to play in the half.

The Chino Hills defense held the Tartans running game to zero total yards.

They also kept the pressure on sophomore quarterback, Sebastian Lawrence.

Lawrence started the game 6-for-11 for 54 yards.

But as the Tartans fell behind and had to pass, he finished the game 8-for-22 for 60 yards.

Aspen Suprenant caught three passes for 23 yards.

Johnny Jabbour intercepted a pass and brought it back 58 yards into the red zone.

Jeon Sims picked a GHS pass early in the second half, and he brought it back for a 50-yard pick-six and a 35-0 Huskies lead.

Nazir McGlothen carried the ball 10 times for 29 yards.

Alex Medyn began his senior campaign in solid form.

Medyn completed 9-of-16 for 120 yards.

That included a 9-yard scoring strike to Calum Ferrell in the second quarter, and a 45-yard TD pass to Nate Jarrett in a 17-point third quarter.

Medyn also got CHHS on the board with a 1-yard run midway through the first quarter.

Jarrett had five receptions for 86 yards.

Jacob Jimenez carried the ball 13 times for 137 yards.

Noah Ahari’s 40-yard field goal gave the Huskies a 38-0 advantage with 3:44 to play in the third quarter.

Glendora’s Aidan Yamazaki had a game-high 12 tackles for GHS, including three for-loss.
