Etiwanda’s season came to an end on Tuesday.
But not before they gave their hosts from West Ranch everything they could handle.
The Wildcats edged the Eagles, 8-7, in eight innings.
EHS trailed 5-0 in the top of the fourth inning, but they put up a five spot to tie the game.
Etiwanda scored twice in the eighth, but unfortunately, WRHS answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Nico Hamilton went 6 2/3 innings, and only one of the five runs charged to him was earned.
Hamilton allowed seven hits, walked three and fanned a trio of West Ranch batters.
Noah Frias was touched up for two runs on one hit and a walk over 1/3 of an inning.
Jaxson Milius went 1/3 of an inning and he surrendered one run on a pair of hits and two walks.
Ty Diaz went 3-for-3 with two walks, a run and two RBIs.
Omar Gutierrez doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Landon Hu went 1-for-4 with a run and one RBI.
Nolan Stoll walked, singled and scored.
Mikey Murr and Ryan Oh singled and scored one run apiece.
Caydin Wilson walked, singled and scored.
Connor Clayton walked and scored.
Murr went 3 1/3 innings, and he was responsible for five runs (four earned) on five hits.
He walked one, hit two Eagles and struck out three.
Orlando Gutierrez surrendered two eighth inning runs on two hits and three walks.
Angel Mejia was hit by pitch twice, walked, had a single, double, run and one RBI.
Josh Adams doubled and scored.
LJ Roellig went 3-for-4 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Frank Gonzales drew a pair of walks, singled, doubled, scored and drove in one.
James Milam walked twice, singled and scored.
Luke Mendoza went 1-for-5 with a run and one RBI.
Jaeden Toki and Ryan Severns were among three EHS batters (Mejia) that got hit in a row with the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning.
EHS finished second in the Baseline League, and they were the league’s lone program that got beyond the second round.
