Baseball:
Duarte took a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning at New Roads in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 8 playoffs.
The Jaguars scored once in the sixth and got three more in the sixth.
But Duarte escaped with a 5-4 victory.
Adalius Trejo went 6 1/3 innings, and he was responsible for two runs on seven hits.
Trejo issued two walks and registered six strikeouts.
Esai Trejo surrendered two runs on three hits before getting the final two outs.
Sawyer Hollis went 2-for-4 with a run and a two-run single and a double.
Fox Raggio walked, singled and scored.
Elio LaPorta went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI double in the seventh.
Matthew Linares singled and doubled.
Santiago Jimenez singled and had an RBI ground out.
Jimenez got the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits over four innings.
He walked three and struck out five DHS batters.
Linares was charged with one run on one hit and four walks in two innings of work.
Adalius Trejo walked, singled, doubled and scored a pair of runs.
Adam Cartagena had a two-run single.
Nathan Petchpradub singled and scored.
