Jake Ourique and Noah Irwin combined on a two-hit shutout in Gahr’s 10-0 victory over their visitors from La Salle in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
Ourique went six scoreless innings and allowed one run.
Ourique didn’t issue a walk and registered eight strikeouts.
Noah Irwin got the final three outs.
Irwin gave up one hit, walked one and fanned one La Salle batter.
Peter Callihan and James Hall had one single apiece to account for the Lancers offense.
Nico Armendariz got the loss after surrendering six runs on eight hits and four walks over 3 2/3 innings.
The Gladiators scored four unearned runs off Morgan Sullivan on four hits in 2 1/3 innings.
Sullivan walked one and struck out one GHS batter.
Adrien Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Andres Gonzalez doubled, scored twice and drove in three.
Bryce Morrison drew a pair of walks, was hit by pitch, singled, scored and had two RBIs.
Alex Martinez singled and scored a pair of runs.
Julian Lucero went 3-for-3 with two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Jake Curneen walked, singled and scored.
Alexander Brown and Oscar Grijalva singled and scored two runs apiece.
Carlos Munoz and Jake Ourique had one single each in Friday’s win.
