Baseball:
Caleb Thatcher had the kind of postseason outing that pitchers dream about.
Thatcher tossed a one-hit shutout in Marshall’s 6-0 victory over the visitors from Leuzinger in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs.
He faced one over the minimum (22 batters).
Zach Grant led off the top of the third inning with a double, and then Thatcher retired the next 15 batters in a row to close out the win.
He didn’t issue a walk and registered 13 strikeouts.
Sixty-two of his 86 pitches were strikes.
Moises Fonseca got the loss after allowing six runs (three earned) on six hits over five innings.
Fonseca walked four and struck out six Marshall batters.
Ryan Pandullo went 2-for-3 with a walk and one RBI.

Thatcher helped his own cause with a walk, single and two runs.
Trevor Lain doubled in a run.
Ben Muro had an RBI double and scored.
Nate Callaway singled and scored.
Elijah Lain singled and scored a pair of runs.
Sandro DiClaudio had an RBI ground out.
