Softball:
Charter Oak secured a perfect regular season after Wednesday’s 14-4 victory over West Covina in five innings.
The Chargers out-hit the Bruins, 14-4, and that included a 9-1 advantage in extra-base hits.
Mibella Huerta went all five innings, and she allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits.
Huerta walked one and fanned seven Bulldogs.
Leslie Bautista hit a two-run HR and scored twice.
Sophia Adler singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Liliana Lopez singled and Ruby Pasag drew a bases loaded walk.
Melina Alvarado had an RBI ground out.
Bautista got the loss after going 4 1/3 innings and surrendering 14 runs (12 earned) on 14 hits.
Bautista issued one walk and registered a pair of strikeouts.
Jayla Brown with 4-for-4 with two doubles, a pair of HR’s, four runs and two RBIs.
Lyla Caston singled, homered twice, scored three runs and drove in three.
Molly Genino hit a three-run HR.
Angalina Arcos went 2-for-3 with a double, run and three RBIs.
Alexa Bryan singled, was hit by pitch twice, and she scored a pair of runs.
Jazmyn Johnson doubled and scored.
Alyssa Lopez went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
