Baseball:
Rancho Cucamonga secured the Baseline League’s No. 3 seed after Wednesday’s 5-3 victory over Damien.
After sweeping Upland and Los Osos to start Baseline League play 6-0, the Cougars lost two of three games against Etiwanda, Chino Hills and Damien.
Brock Foulds went the distance, and he was charged with three runs (two earned) on seven hits.
Foulds walked two and fanned four DHS batters.
Nico Vasquez doubled, scored and had an RBI ground out.
Gino Tarzia went 2-for-4, including an RBI single in the fifth inning.
Grant Corder walked, singled and scored.
Michael Mansour singled twice and scored.
Brady Bickham had an RBI ground ball.
Russell Del Castillo went 2 2/3 innings, and he was charged with five runs (three earned) on seven hits.
Del Castillo walked one and fanned one RCHS batter.
Ethan Chavez provided 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and allowing one hit.
Chavez issued one walk and registered a pair of strikeouts.
Foulds helped his own cause by going 2-for-4 with a run, and his RBI single in the second gave the Cougars a 3-1 lead.
Aiden Bravo doubled and scored.
Beau Briggs went 2-for-3 with a double, run and one RBI.
Richie Duran walked, doubled and scored.
Jared Mock had an RBI single in the second innings.
Ethan Diaz walked and scored.
Jose Gomez singled for RCHS.
