Baseball:
The Damien seniors went out winners on Tuesday.
The Spartans scored four runs in the bottom of the first and that was enough to hang on for a 5-4 victory.
Andrew Torres went five innings, and he was charged with two runs on three hits.
Torres walked five and fanned three RCHS batters.
Rancho Cucamonga got to Ryan Wentworth for two runs on two hits and a pair of walks over 1 1/3 innings.
Ethan Chavez got the final two outs to earn the save.
Brock Foulds drew three walks, doubled and scored three times.
Joseph Garcia hit a two-run HR in the top of the seventh.
Jose Gomez drove in a run on a sac fly.
Rowan Suchanek, Aiden Bravo and Beau Briggs had one single apiece.
Mason Sanchez got stuck with the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits over 3 1/3 innings.
Sanchez walked one and fanned one DHS batter.
Justin Stansbury provided 2 2/3 scoreless innings and allowed one hit and two walks.
Down 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, Michael Mansour had a two-run single to give DHS their first lead of the game.
And they wouldn’t trail again.
