Buoncristiani Goes Distance, Allowing Unearned Run, Striking Out Nine & Tripled in a Run in Chino Hills’ 2-1 Victory Over Upland

As the Baseline League enters it final day on Wednesday, the top five (of six) teams are separated by 1.5 games.

Chino Hills, RCHS and Damien are all 8-6.

Los Osos is 9-4 and Etiwanda is 8-5.

The Huskies, Cougars and Spartans have one game left, while EHS and LOHS will play at 1 and 4 this afternoon at Los Osos.

That gets us to Chino Hills.

The Huskies rode the arm of Brody Buoncristiani to a 2-1 victory over winless Upland.

Buoncristiani went the distance, allowing an unearned run on four hits.

He didn’t issue a walk and registered nine strikeouts.

Nick Serna singled and scored.

Tommy Lopez, Eli Cervantes and Julian Zambrano singled for the Highlanders.

Issac Carlos got the loss after surrendering two runs on five hits over six innings.

Carlos walked one and fanned a pair of Huskies.

Gabriel Hernandez singled twice and scored.

Frankie Brazil singled and scored.

Buoncristiani helped his own cause with an RBI triple in the third inning.

Anthony Medyn doubled, and Josh Mendez singled in Tuesday’s win.

CHHS is expected to sweep winless Upland on Wednesday.
