A freshman gave San Dimas a chance to secure the Hacienda League’s No. 2 playoff seed.

Dean Brosterhouse tossed a two-hit shutout in a 3-0 victory at Colony.

Brosterhouse issued one walk and registered six strikeouts.

Fifty-four of his 80 pitches were strikes.

SDHS is now dead even at 6-5 with Colony, and they have the opportunity to finish second with a home win on Wednesday.

Noah Lara tripled, and Ricardo Zazueta singled to account for the Titans offense.

Michael Huicochea went six innings, and he was charged with three runs on nine hits.

Huicochea walked one and fanned four SDHS batters.

Vaughn Coleman led off the game with a solo home run.

Jason Almeda went 2-for-3, including an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Micah Cooper had an RBI single in the second to give SDHS a 2-0 lead.

Aaden Escarcega singled twice and scored.

Josh Calcanas walked singled and scored.

Ashton Romero and James Rocha had one single apiece.

Up next: The Saints will host the Titans on Wednesday at 3:30 in the regular season finale.
