Glendora continues to inch their way towards a CIF-SS playoff berth.
Through the first two days of this current week, the Tartans have Palomares League victories over Bonita (5-1) and Walnut (8-0)
With two games to go with the Mustangs, GHS has a one-game lead over Claremont for the league’s No. 3 seed.
If the Tartans and Wolfpack end up tied, Glendora would have the tiebreaker after a Palomares League series victory, 2-1.
On Tuesday, Brayden Johnson went six scoreless innings and scattered six hits.
Johnson issued two walks and registered five strikeouts.
Mason Danison got the final three outs, including one via strikeout.
JJ Rodriguez had a pair of singles.
Daniel Mejia, Jacob Rodriguez, Jacob Zepeda, Manny Aguilar and Noah Tomas had one single apiece.
Nate Leyva got the loss after surrendering five unearned runs on seven hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Leyva walked one and fanned three GHS batters.
Dillan Lobo was charged with two runs on four hits and a pair of walks over 2 1/3 innings.
GHS out-hit WHS, 12-7.
Santiago Garza went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Aaron Jacobsen singled twice and scored.
Jackson Glaze went 3-for-3 with a run and one RBI.
Kai Zeits singled and scored.
Brayden Johnson helped his own cause with an RBI double.
Tanner Grable singled and drove in a run on a sac fly.
John Seader walked, singled, scored twice and had one RBI.
