Baseball:
Things went exactly as expected when the first place and highest scoring team in the Palomares went head-to-head with the league’s cellar dwellers.
Ayala jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the top of the second, and they cruised to a 12-3 victory at Diamond Bar.
The Bulldogs out-hit the Brahmas, 15-2, and none of the three DBHS runs in the seventh were earned.
Ayala is now 7-0 in league games, and they’ve outscored their opponents (GHS, Walnut & DBHS) by a combined margin of 79-9.
Of those nine runs allowed, only four were earned.
Caleb Trugman went 6 1/3 innings, and he was charged with three unearned runs on one hit.
Trugman issued one walk and registered nine strikeouts.
Nolan Chuang got the final two outs, including one via strikeout.
Apolo Yonemoto had an RBI double in the seventh.
Nathan Nakamura had an RBI fielder’s choice and scored.
