Brandon Gill Hits Grand Slam, Doubles & Drives in Six Runs in PCC’s 27-4 South Coast Conference Beatdown Over Compton College

College Baseball:

PCC jumped into a three-way tie in third place in the South Coast Conference standings with Long Beach after completing its three-game sweep over Compton.

The Lancers defeated the Tartars, 16-2, and 4-3, on March 11th and 15th, respectively.

Game two of that series, originally scheduled for March 13th, was rained out, and it finally got made up on Monday.

PCC dropped a 27-4 ass-kicking on Compton.

The Lancers pounded eight Tartars’ pitchers for 19 hits, included 10 PCC batters that collected at least one base hit.

Gabriel Lizarraga got the loss after surrendering five runs on two hits and a pair of walks without recording an out.

Brandon Gill started the onslaught with a grand slam in the top of the first inning.

In the fourth inning, Gill’s two-run double gave the Lancers a 16-2 lead.

Gill finished with two runs and six RBIs.

Devon Eskridge went 3-for-6 with a two-run HR, an RBI single and scored a pair of runs.

Bryan Richman walked, singled, doubled, scored three times and drove in a pair.

Joaquin Salcedo went 2-for-5, including a pair of walks, a triple, four runs and one RBI.

Adrian Roman drew four walks, singled twice and scored four times.

Tyler Garcia walked, had a two-run double, was hit with the bases loaded and scored three runs.

Carlos Hernandez had a bases-clearing triple and scored.

Omar Cisneros went 3-for-5 with two walks, four runs and an RBI.

Devin Munoz singled, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.

Logan Parker got the win after going five innings and allowing two runs on three hits.

Parker issued six walks and struck out one Compton batter.

Anthony Manuel walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.

Deegan Grgas walked, singled and scored.

Brandon Cachu walked and scored.

Zaid Humphrey walked and had an RBI single.

Ian Wilson and Amaree Burnett drew bases loaded walks.

Quincy Quintero had an RBI ground out.

Up next: The Lancers host Victor Valley on Tuesday at 2, and they’ll spend Thursday and Friday 373 miles away from home at Merced College.
