College Baseball:
Pasadena City College outlasted the state’s No. 5 program, Riverside, 12-10, on Friday afternoon.
The Tigers and Lancers, two of So Cal’s consistent winners, combined for 22 runs, 25 hits, including nine extra-base hits, and 10 pitchers.
PCC led 11-3 in the fifth before RCC made the game much closer than those in the third-base dugout would have preferred.
Joe Bacon was credited with the win after going 5 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits.
Bacon issued a pair of walks and fanned two RCC batters.
Matt Garcia secured the save after going the ninth and surrendering one run on two hits.
Logan Clear walked, singled, tripled and scored twice.
Alex Gamez went 2-for-4 with a walk, double, run and three RBIs.
Darin Osterloh tripled, scored and had an RBI ground out.
Parker Sobiesiak, a CIF champ at Etiwanda, had an RBI double and scored.
Marcus Moyer drew a pair of walks, doubled, scored two runs and drove in one.
Ian Nguyen went 2-for-4 with a walk.
Marc DiCarlo walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Danny Inzunza and Bubba Heidler had one RBI apiece.
Jack Wheaton was charged with the loss after allowing six runs (three earned) on five hits over two innings.
Wheaton walked one and fanned one PCC batter.
The Lancers got to Tre Minisee for five runs on three hits and four walks over 1 2/3 innings.
Joaquin Salcedo went 3-for-4 with a walk, solo HR, an RBI double and three runs.
Adrian Roman drew a pair of walks, scored three times and had a two-run double.
Bryan Richman walked, singled and scored a pair of runs from the leadoff spot.
Omar Cisneros went 3-for-3 with two walks, a pair of runs and one RBI.
Troy Estrada singled twice and drove in three runs.
Devon Eskridge went 2-for-5, including an RBI double and one run.
Brandon Gill drew a pair of walks, singled and scored twice.
Isaac Ton finished with two RBIs, including one on a sac fly.
Devin Munoz walked with the bases loaded and singled.
