Leila Diebert Goes Distance & Strikes Out 11 in COHS’ 4-3 Victory Over El Dorado; Mikayla Diebert Hit Walk-Off HR

Softball:

The Diebert sisters put on quite a show on Friday.

Leila Diebert went the distance in Charter Oak’s 4-3 victory over El Dorado.

She surrendered three runs on 10 hits.

Leila walked one and fanned 11 EDHS batters.

Of her 121 pitches, 89 were strikes.

Jessica Cherms went 2-for-4, including a solo home run.

Renay Chavez singled, tripled and scored.

Emily Miessner went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Kayla Davenport went 5 1/3 innings for El Dorado, and she was charged with one run on four hits.

Davenport issued three walks and struck out nine COHS batters.

Emma Esquivel got the loss after allowing three runs on two hits and a pair of walks over 2/3 of an inning.

Mikayla Diebert went 3-for-4, including a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Mikayla scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Leila doubled, tripled and scored.

Jayla Brown walked, singled and scored.

Shae McMorrow and Alyssa Lopez both drew bases-loaded walks.

Up next: The Chargers host San Dimas on Thursday at 3:30.
