Baseball:
Bonita is now 2-0 in Palomares League play after Thursday’s 5-1 victory over visiting Diamond Bar.
The Bearcats scored five runs in the first two innings and three BHS pitchers did the rest.
Adam Raab earned the win after going five innings and allowing one run on three hits and a pair of walks.
Evan Nguyen and Ryder Gibson provided one scoreless in relief apiece and both had one strikeout.
Jayden Henness walked, singled and scored.
Nathan Nakamura drove in Henness on a ground out in the top of the fifth inning.
Isaac Insuasti, Jacob Smith and Ethan McNeil had one single apiece for DBHS.
Carlos Cornejo was saddled with the loss after surrendering five runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over four innings.
Milan Mehta went two scoreless innings in relief for the Brahmas.
Andrew Sanchez had a two-run double in the second inning.
Cody White walked, doubled and scored two runs.
Dominic Garcia had an RBI ground out.
Jarrett Kozma went 2-for-2 and scored one run.
LJ Vasquez walked and had an RBI single.
Austin Banuelos and Drew Apodaca walked and scored one run apiece.
Judah Reeve singled for the Bearcats.
