Muir is off to its best start since 2019.
The Mustangs secured a 13-3 mercy-rule victory over New Roads.
MHS’ eight wins in their first 11 games matches the start from six years ago.
Conrad Hunziker IV went three perfect innings in relief to earn the win.
Hunziker got seven of his nine outs via strikeout.
According to MaxPreps, Hunziker’s 45 strikeouts is tops among all Pacific League pitchers, and he’s in the top three in the state.
The Jaguars got three runs (two earned) off Sergio Rodriguez in two innings.
Rodriguez allowed four hits, walked one and struck out one NRHS batter.
Fox Raggio and Xavier Walker singled and scored run apiece.
Donovan Eastwood and Santiago Jimenez both had one single and one RBI.
Hayden Farrell-Katseanes walked and scored.
Sebastian Berumen was charged with the loss after surrendering six runs on four hits over 2 1/3 innings.
Berumen issued three walks and registered four strikeouts.
Kahlil Rishwain walked, singled and scored three times.
Hunziker went 1-for-3 with a walk, RBI and three runs.
Tyler Law singled and scored.
Fletcher Paddock drew a pair of walks and scored two runs.
Luca Cano went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Rodriguez singled and scored.
Bryant Soriano singled and had one RBI.
Arturo Ayers finished with two RBIs and one run.
Lawton Gray walked and scored.
Eduardo Sosa went 1-for-2 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Up next: The Mustangs travel to Hacienda Heights Wilson on Saturday morning at 10.
