College Baseball:
PCC secured season victory No. 13 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lancers outlasted Golden West, 8-6, at Brookside Park.
GWC scored twice in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at 5-5.
PCC, however, answered with three runs in the bottom half of the eighth.
Matt Futami went 2 2/3 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on two hits.
Futami walked two and fanned three PCC batters.
Ethan Moran provided 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.
Moran scattered five hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out two.
Wyatt Thomas was charged with the loss after surrendering three runs (two earned) on two hits and a pair of walks over two innings of work.
Bryan Richman went 3-for-4 with a walk, three runs and one RBI.
Joaquin Salcedo drew a pair of walks, doubled and scored.
Devon Eskridge went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Isaac Ton singled twice and scored.
Omar Cisneros walked and scored.
Tyler Garcia scored and was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.
Adrian Roman singled and had an RBI fielder’s choice.
Rocco Regan scored and had one RBI.
Evan Nahra drove in a run on a sac fly.
Hugo Tafoya went six innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits.
Tafoya walked four and struck out nine Golden West batters.
Matt Garcia got the win after going 2 2/3 innings and allowing three runs on four hits.
Garcia issued one walk and registered one strikeout.
Cole Belfanti went 4-for-4 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Roman Meyers’ two-run double in the eighth tied the game at 5-5.
Jonny Rodriguez singled, scored and drove in one run.
Isaac Ocampo singled twice and scored.
Kevin Villegas singled and walked with the bases loaded.
Landon Runyan went 2-for-4 with a walk and one run.
Dennis Fitzpatrick walked and scored two runs.
Up next: The Lancers will host Riverside on Friday at 1.
