Bonita scored three runs in the first inning and three Bearcats’ pitchers made that stand up in Saturday’s 4-2 victory over South Hills in the Pizza Chalet Tournament.
Camden Farina went 4 2/3 innings to earn the win.
Farina surrendered two runs (one earned) on four hits.
He issued two walks and registered three strikeouts.
Both Adam Raab and Ryder Gibson provided one scoreless and hitless inning of relief.
Paxton Czubek doubled and scored.
Carson Baker was hit by pitch in the fifth and he came around to score on a Czubek ground ball.
Zack Escalera walked and singled.
Noah Esquival and Ayden Vieth had singles for the Huskies.
Diego Villarreal had an RBI ground out in the top of the second inning.
Escalera was charged with the loss after allowing three first-inning runs on three hits and a walk.
Cody White went 2-for-3 with a run and one RBI in the three-run first inning.
Jarrett Kozma had an RBI double in the first inning and scored one run.
Andrew Sanchez drove in a run on a ground out.
Dominic Garcia drew a pair of walks and scored.
