Softball:
Bonita is now 2-0 after Wednesday’s 6-2 victory over Arcadia.
The Bearcats have opened their own tournament with comfortable wins over Monrovia and now AHS.
And they’ve done so by a combined margin of 22-3.
BHS out-hit the Wildcats and Apaches, 14-4, and 6-1, respectively.
Samantha Almaraz with charged with the loss after allowing two runs on three hits over her three innings in the circle.
Almaraz issued a pair of walks, and she fanned one BHS batter.
Sara Yeats hit a two-run HR.
Leah Reynolds walked, hit a solo HR and scored a pair of runs.
Koa Puppe drew a pair of walks, and she doubled in two runs.
Audrey Garza walked twice and scored.
Kiana Crawford walked and scored.
Camryn Van Valkenburgh walked and singled.
Serenity Reyes doubled, and Mia Guerrero singled in victory No. 2 for BHS.
Reyes went the distance in the circle to earn the win.
She allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit.
Reyes issued three walks and struck out 13 AHS batters.
Alyssa Cordeiro had an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning.
Addy Ruiz drew a pair of walks and scored.
Nia White walked and scored.
Up next: Both Arcadia and Bonita will be in action on Thursday.
AHS will battle Alta Loma at 3:30, and BHS faces off with Yucaipa (2-0) at 5:30.
