Boys Basketball:
It’s been a rough few weeks for the San Dimas basketball program.
The Saints had lost four of their last five Hacienda League games.
On senior night, though, the Saints edged Colony, 52-50, thanks to a dramatic finish.
Andrew Diep’s bucket with 3.7 seconds to play was the difference.
Luke Chavez scored a game-high 19 points.
Jeremiah Garzon chipped in with 14 points.
Nathan Yearout hit three 3-pointers, and he scored 11 points.
That cemented Yearout’s spot on the San Dimas’ 1,000-point club.
Desmond Flanagan led Colony with 13 points.
Destin Strauther and Carter Johnson provided 10 points apiece in the loss.
Up next: The Saints close out the regular season on Wednesday at South Hills.
The tip is set for 6:30.
Colony will host second-place Alta Loma (4-3).
If the Titans win at home, and the Saints beat the Huskies in West Covina, it would set up a 3-way tie for second place.
In that case, a coin flip would be the decider.
