Ayala is close to securing the No. 3 seed out of the Palomares League.
The Bulldogs edged their visitors from Diamond Bar, 64-61, on Tuesday night.
Three of the four quarters were decided by two points or less.
AHS got off to a quick start and led, 21-13, after the first eight minutes.
With two games to play, the Bulldogs hold a one-game lead over fourth-place Bonita, and they meet up next Tuesday in the regular season finale.
Joshua Townsell and Jeremy Serrano scored 20 points apiece for AHS.
Serrano had three of Ayala four 3-pointers.
Milo Tun and Kyle Chang provided nine points each in the win.
Tyler West had a game-high 29 points for Diamond Bar.
West scored 22 of those 29 in the second half when DBHS went on a 31-27 run.
Reed Bevans and Ezekiel Alegado had 11 points apiece for the Brahmas.
