Boys Basketball:
Damien had one last tune-up before finishing up Baseline League play.
The Spartans cruised to a 75-44 nonleague victory over their visitors from Aquinas.
DHS took a 44-18 lead into the break, and they enjoyed a 61-38 advantage after three quarters.
Eli Garner had game-highs in 3-pointers (4) and points (28).
Lucas Arrieta added 12 points, including two 3-pointers.
Jacob Allen and Zaire Rasshan chipped in with 10 points apiece.
Nine of Allen’s points came from beyond the 3-point arc, and Rasshan hit a pair of 3’s.
Vincent Warsaw led Aquinas with 17 points.
LJ Hall chipped in with 11 points in the loss.
Up next: The Spartans host Upland (9-15, 0-5) tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30 in the first round of the Baseline League Tournament.
