Football:
As mentioned, Brandon Rohrer tendered his resignation today.
Since Rohrer took over the Glendora football program, the Tartans went 56-23 overall.
That adds up to a 71-percent winning ratio.
GHS also went 19-7 in league games.
Rohrer led his alma mater to consecutive CIF-SS semifinal appearances in 2018 and 2019.
In 2021, the Braydon Brus-led Tartans rallied behind their coach, and Glendora won the first 11 games of the season for the first time in program history.
It was also the first time Glendora finished the regular season at 10-0.
And Rohrer’s swan song included GHS making their first CIF-SS title-game appearance in 35 years.
But what might go overlooked is his program’s performance in money time.
A coach’s worth is or at least should be weighed heavily on their playoff success or lack thereof.
In the seven years (2018-2024) he ran the ship, Glendora’s 10 wins is tied for second among the 30 programs within the 210 Prep Sports coverage zone.
GHS is tied with the reigning back-to-back CIF-SS champions from Rio Hondo Prep.
And Muir is just one-game ahead of the Tartans and Kares.
Glendora earned postseason berths in each full season since 2018 under Rohrer’s leadership.
COVID-19 shut down the world, including the possibility of a 2020 season.
For that, Coach Rohrer, his staff and their players deserve a lot of credit.
