Girls Basketball:
If Thursday’s Burroughs Tournament game wasn’t over after the first quarter, it was certainly game, set and match at halftime.
La Salle cruised to a 71-15 victory over Santa Monica in the second round of the tournament.
The Lancers led by 22 points after one period, and they took a 43-9 lead into the break.
Casey Higgins outscored Santa Monica, 20-15, on her own.
Kaden Cortes hit three 3’s and she finished with 13.
Aislin Tamez Torres chipped in with 10 points, and Julianne Tan had nine.
Kyla Cotton led SMHS with seven points.
Inkara Bekbenbetova chipped in with five points in the loss.
Up next: The Lancers will face Palisades on Saturday at noon.
