Boys Basketball:
Damien improved to 2-0 at the Riverside Kiwanis Tournament.
On Monday, the Spartans crushed Notre Dame by 60 points (97-37).
And on Tuesday, DHS secured an 83-63 victory over Orange Vista.
Damien led 56-28 at the half, and the final score appears far closer than it really was.
Eli Garner had a game-high 27 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Nate Garcia scored 15 points in the first quarter, and the senior finished with 23.
Jayden Avina chipped in with 10 points, and Sammy Franco added seven points for the Spartans.
Tommy Smith led Orange Vista with 14 points, and Anson Wright had 13 points in the loss.
Up next: The Spartans will be in action on Thursday in the semifinal round at 5:30.
