Girls Tennis:
Marshall Fundamental earned a spot in next week’s quarterfinal round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs.
Two days after an 11-7 win over Tustin in the first round, the girls from Pasadena secured a 12-6 victory over fellow Mission Valley League competitor, Rosemead, on Friday.
Marshall’s singles went 9-0 to lead the way.
No. 1 singles player, Hannah Hagiwara, didn’t drop a single game in any of her three matches.
No. 2 Diana Kasabian also cruised by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1.
Elena Edmonds had set victories of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-0.
In doubles, Sierra Bethelmy/Keri Santiago took two of three sets.
Their match scores were of 6-7(1) tiebreaker, 6-0 and 6-1.
Sophia Alpuche/Lexie Palacios picked up one set in Friday’s win.

The No. 2 seeded Warriors defeated their visitors from Ramona, 17-1, on Friday.
