Girls Volleyball:
Covina opened the CIF-SS Division 7 having won three consecutive matches.
The Colts (6-4) finished third in the Valle Vista League.
CHS trailed Charter Oak by one-game, and they were two back of the VVL champions from Northview.
NHS edged CHS in a pair of five-set victories.
Why does that info matter?
Because after Thursday’s sweep of Sierra Vista, Covina will get a third shot at Northview on Saturday.
The Colts defeated the Dons by scored of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19.
Julianna Munoz had a big night with five kills, five digs, eight aces and 29 assists.
Melanie Luna had a match-high 17 kills.
Bella Garcia chipped in with 13 kills.
Brianna Gaytan added 12 kills and five blocks.
