“Today we traveled to Arroyo hungry to extend our unblemished MVL record vs the defending league champs.
We clinched the match midway through the second round.
Therefore, I was able to get most of our subs in for more valuable playing time and experience.
Our singles lineup won eight of our nine matches
Our No. 1 Hannah Hagiwara., & No. 2, Diana Kasabian, each swept their three opponents.
Our No. 3 Elena Edmonds and one of our fearless freshmen, Claire Thomas, (subbed in and) added two more singles wins.
Our No. 1 doubles team of Sierra Bethelmy & Keri Santiago won two sets.
And a pair of subs: Lilian Sorto-Lopez & Maura Mhagama added another set win for Marshall.
Tehilah Ofumbi paired with Parisa Vazira, adding another doubles’ set win for us.
Two more fearless freshman subbed in. Madison Castro & Alessandra Santiago making a respectful showing, while gaining more valuable experience.
Today’s ‘Players of the Game Award goes to our Np. 2 doubles team of Lexie Palacios & Sophia Alpuche.
They swept all three of their sets, 6-2; 6-0, and 6-4.
Marshall is now 7-0 in Mission Valley League matches.”
