Glendora Closes Out Inaugural Regular Season w/a 16-0 Palomares League Victory Over Claremont; GHS Went 5-2 in Last Seven Games

Flag Football:

Glendora finished the inaugural 2024 flag football season on a high note.

The Tartans shut out Claremont, 18-0, on Monday evening at Louie Pompei Memorial Park in Glendora.

GHS led 6-0 at the break and put the game away in the second half.

They finished having won five of their final seven games.

Rylee Franks was 12-of-24 for 134 yards.

The freshman tossed a pair of TDs and one interception.

Hailey Travisano led the GHS ground attack.

Travisano gained 129 yards on 11 carries.

Emily Green caught three passes, including one for a TD.

Olivia Martin had two receptions and one score.

Milana Luera contributed with her four catches for 36 yards.

The Tartans defense played was solid as they’ve been all season.

Paola Casas had six flag pulls and one interception that she returned for a pick-six.

Tatiana Espitia totaled six flag pulls of her own.

Sofia Freking had an INT.

And Emily Husung secured her team-best ninth interception in the win.

Talking about that Tartans’ defense… Glendora held the only SGV area unbeaten program, Bonita, to 20 total points in a pair of Palomares League losses.

BHS averages 27 points per game.

And they surrendered 28 total points versus Ayala.

And the second-place Bulldogs have averaged scoring 22 points per game in a 19-win season.

Up next: The Tartans will find out Saturday morning at 9 to see if they make the CIF-SS playoffs.
