For the fifth consecutive time in as many tries, the Rio Hondo Prep football program blew out another opponent.
The Kares improved to 5-0 after a 44-6 victory over their visitors from Bellflower.
Through Friday’s game, Rio Hondo Prep has outscored Francis Parker, Poly, Maranatha, Marquez and Bellflower by a combined margin of 273-86.
RHP tripled BHS in the time of possession battle.
The Kares scored the first 44 points in Friday’s contest.
Rainn Pollock had an interception on defense, and he caught a 32-yard TD pass from Landry Johnson.
Nate Curtis led RHP with 72 yards on just two carries, and that included a 67-yard TD run with 1:41 to play in the half.
Curtis also picked BHS quarterback, Elijah Thompson.
Landry Johnson had the 32-yard TD pass to Pollock, and he caught a 4-yard TD pass from Yanick Diaz.
Caeden Holcomb blocked a punt and Cristian Lee recovered it for a TD.
Nathaniel Shine capped the Kares scoring with a 65-yard TD run.
Noah Penunuri carried the ball just one time, but it was good for 56 yards.
Tyler Dang had a 55-yard pick-six for the Kares.
Lee had 11 tackles to lead the Rio Hondo Prep defense.
Up next: The Kares travel to Torrance next Friday at 7.
The Tartars (4-0) secured a 38-9 victory at El Segundo on Friday evening.
